CWH, HPOU hot water heaters >15 litres

Flush nearest outlet for 1 minute and record temperature. Record maximum temperature if hot water is flushed away within 1 minute.

Hot water system

Test sentinel outlets and ensure the hot water is ≥50°C (≥55°C in healthcare) after one minute of flushing. Check hot water return temperature on principal loops and flow temperature of subordinate loops.

Tanked and mains cold water systems

Test temperature of sentinel points and on long runs of pipe work to ensure water is <20°C after 2 minutes of flushing

 

Calorifier + PHE

Test temperature of flow and return. Flow temperature should be ≥60°C; return ≥50°C (55°C in healthcare)
